Obituary:

A. B. Hanson was born Jan. 8, 1869 at Spring Valley, Minn., and when 13 years old moved to Alexandria, Minn., at the age of 19 was married to Susan May Glines.

In 1902 Mr. Hanson moved to a homestead northeast of Balfour, N. D., and in 1909, moved to Drake, N. D. where he engaged in the implement business. The fall of 1913 moved to Aiden, Alberta, Can., and some few years later moved to Whitlash, Mont., where he engaged in farming and cattle raising; in 1926 moved to Chester, where he made a permanent home and engaged in various activities, at the time of his death, he was an organizer for the North Dakota-Montana Wheat Growers Association.

Mr. Hanson died in Havre, Sept. 19 at 10:45 P.M., at the age of 60 years four months and eight days. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. A. B. Hanson, daughters Mrs. Mary Hoffner of Chester, Montana, Mrs. O. D. Gifford of Minot, N. D., sons, Chris Hanson and Clifford Hanson of Chester, Montana and there is a sister and brother in California and a sister and brother in Minnesota and there are 12 grandchildren.

The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Chester at 2 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, Sept. 22, the sermon being preached b the Rev. Montague Bickle. Interment was made in the local I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Mr. Hanson was well known and much loved in this community as in all other places wherein he resided. He was a loving husband and a kind and judicious father. His passing came as a great shock not only to his immediate family, but to the whole countryside as well. His ailment was of long duration, but he was of that disposition that smiled on the world even though his time was not long here. A. B. Hanson, one of God's purveyors of kindness and gentility has gone to his Heavenly reward.
