Mr. William Edward Abernathie died on February 19, 2006 - 77 years of age of Yucaipa, CA. Football and Baseball star in the early 40s at Colton HS. He played pro baseball in the 40s & 50's with the San Francisco Seals of the Pacific Coast League and the Cleveland Indians to name a few. He did two years of military service with the Marine Corp. and played ball for them as well.

He worked for the San Bernardino Sherriff's Dept. for 19 years and retired as a Lt. in 1977. Since that time he has been living life to the fullest with his family and friends.

He is survived by one son William Jr.; daughter-in-law Carol; and two grandsons, Jake & Wyatt of Yucaipa; one daughter, Pamela Abernathie of Tillamook, Oregon.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, Feb 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Yucaipa at 31577 Beech Ave. Reception at the church immediately following. Final Resting place Montectio Memorial Park Colton, California. Arrangements under the direction of Montecito Memorial Park & Mortuary in Loma Linda, CA.
