Margaret Elise Silver Cook died in Salt Lake City, Utah November 1, 1993.

Beloved mother of Nancy Garner, Susan A. Petersen, Catherine A. Hull, Thomas F. (Fred) Garner, Paul B. Garner, Margaret (Meg) Handy, and Allen A. Christensen; beloved grandmother of Jill and Michael Hull, Greg Petersen, Kimberly and Kristin Garner, Josh, Pat, and KC Garner, Alexandra and Nicholas Handy; Calvin and Abel Christensen.

She was born to Joseph Watson Silver and Elise Droubay Silver March 21, 1918. She grew up in Salt Lake with her brother, Bob and sisters, Adele, Jo, and Jeanne. Margaret graduated from South High and attended the University of Utah and later Colorado State University.

Margaret was one of the first successful business women in Utah--owner and broker of Garner Real Estate, 1949-1992. Her sharp mind, especially with numbers, helped not only in business but also made her an excellent bridge player, a game she enjoyed and had a passion for all her life.

Margaret made homes in Salt Lake City, Laramie, Wyoming, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Honolulu, Hawaii. Her homes gave her much pleasure and she especially treasured her last.

A celebration of her life will be Thursday, November 4th, 3-8 p.m. at 6675 So. Cristobal St. (2520 East). In lieu of flowers, please donate in Margaret's name to Community Nursing and Hospice, 2970 So. Main, SLC, UT 84115.
