A Mass of Christian Burial for Albert A. Hoelker, age 99 and a Custer County resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clinton with Father Rex Arnold officiating.

A Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Hoelker died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at the Grace Living Center in Clinton. He was born on July 15, 1908 in Anthon, the son of Herman and Mamie (Klein) Hoelker.

Reared in the Anthon community, he attended school there, and he farmed on the family farm for several years before moving to Clinton in 1946.

He continued his farming operation at Anthon, raising wheat and cattle until his retirement in 1988.

A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, he was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

As an accomplished violinist, he formed a band with his brothers and a sister, and they played in years past for dances and social gatherings.

Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were two brothers, Paul Hoelker and Louis Hoelker; and an infant sister, Esta.

Burial will conclude in the Anthon Cemetery northwest of Custer City.

Survivors include two sisters, Agnes Hoelker of Clinton, Clara Dunn and her husband, Robert, of Rogers, Ark.; and a brother, Devert Hoelker and his wife, Ernestine, of Custer City.
