A beloved husband, father, and man of faith he is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Naomi Ruth Furr Kesner; two sons, James Robert Kesner and wife Fay of Fairborn, Ohio, and John William Kesner and wife Rita of Severna Park, Maryland and daughter Naomi Joyce Adams of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A native of Indiana he moved to Brookhaven, Mississippi in 1940 to work for Stahl Urban, transferring to Shelbyville, Tennessee in 1957 as plant manager for Model Sportswear. Returning to Brookhaven in 1973 he completed his career with Stahl Urban.
He was a Navy veteran during World War II and a member of the Lion's Club for sixty-five years. He helped organize the first Cub Scout troop for Brookhaven. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Brookhaven and Shelbyville serving each church as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and treasurer. He enjoyed fishing and travel, being the tour director for over 65 trips for seniors.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Shelbyville, TN.
