Elva Marie Taylor, 72, of 1326 Eastern Avenue, Connersville, died Thursday morning, August 8, 2002 at her home. She had been in ill health for several years.
She was born March 6, 1930 in Brookville, IN to Thomas and Catherine Roberts Faubus. She lived in Franklin County until moving to Connersville in 1973. In 1999, she retired from Visteon in Connersville where she had been employed for 31 years. She attended Solid Rock Community Church, Connersville and in her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and vacationing.
Survivors include 1 son and his wife: William Fred & Janet Taylor of Connersville; 4 daughters and their spouses: Judy and Lee Schneider of Bentonville; Phyllis and Frank Russell and Donna and Phillip Hicks all of Connersville; Brenda and Thomas Smith of Glenwood; 3 brothers: Lucas Faubus of Findlay, IL; Robert and Lula Taylor of Connersville and Albert and Linda Taylor of Metamora; 3 sisters: Ella Mae and her husband Henry Marshall of Laurel; Mazie Marshall and Cindy King both of Brookville; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Frank Taylor whom she married May 8, 1948 in London, KY; he died October 17, 1989. 4 brothers: Kenneth Taylor; Joseph, Hiram and Dewey Forbes; 1 sister: Bessie Frye.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Gary Reynolds of the Solid Rock Community Church officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel North Cemetery, Laurel. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday where memorial contributions may be made to the Solid Rock Community Church.
