Louise M. Collier, one of Racine's best-known school teachers for 36 years before her retirement, died in Springfield Hospital near Baltimore, Md., Tuesday. Miss Collier taught in old Racine High School and Washington Park High School, starting in 1905 and retiring in 1941, when she moved east. Miss Collier was the daughter of Joshua Collier and Alice Hurst Collier, pioneer settlers. She attended Oshkosh Normal School and was a grade of Lawrence College at Appleton, class of 1901. She spent a year in China in 1909-1910, and was in England in 1936. She was active in the Racine Chapter of the American Association of University Women and was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are three nieces and four nephews, including Kenneth Collier of Racine.
