The Reverend Jacob M. Ackman was a son of Henry Clay and Elizabeth M.(Plunkett)Ackman.

Obituary: FATHER OF LOCAL ATTORNEY DIES IN OHIO: "The Rev. Jacob Meyers Ackman was born on the 12th day of April, 1865 in the home of his father, Henry Clay Ackman, midway between Corinth and Cordova in southeastern Grant County. He was educated in the common schools of Grant County, the Corinth Academy, and Ohio Wesley (sic) University at Delaware, Ohio. He became a member of the Kentucky M. E. Conference in 1892 and continued in the work of the ministry until September, 1927, when his failing health forced his retirement. During his career he served in Covington, Louisville, Somerset and Ashland, in Kentucky; and Belmont, West Salem, Galena, Bethesda and Youngstown, in Ohio. He was ill over two weeks in his home, and on Wednesday, March 27th was removed to the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati where he died on Saturday morning, March 30th, at the hour of 5:26 o;clock A.M., being exactly sunrise. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, Charlotte Mardis Ackman, and his children, Mrs. M. D. Bray of 2541 Sheridan Drive, Norwood, Ohio and L. M. Ackman, attorney, of Williamstown, Kentucky, and two grandchildren, Jacob Douglas Ackman and John Lane Ackman; three brothers, a sister and many friends and acquaintances. The body lay in state in his home in Norwood until 11:00 o'clock A.M., Monday morning, when services were conducted by Dr. O. W. Robinson, pastor of Grace Methodist Church of Newport Kentucky, assisted by the local pastors, and later in the Methodist Church at Williamstown at 2:000 o'clock P.M., where Dr. Robinson delivered the funeral eulogy. Interment was had in the beautiful cemetery at Williamstown, Grant County, Ky."
