"Joseph Heun was born in Arfurt, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia on May 1, 1876. He married Catherine Rinke on November 11, 1902 in Milwaukee. They had 9 children. Joseph was naturalized in 1916. He was a painter and died of painter's colic (lead poisoning) in 1917. After the death of Catherine in 1950, his meager remains (a button, piece of bone, & some scraps of wood from the casket) were moved from Calvary Cemetery in Milwaukee to St. Louis Cemetery in Caledonia, WI to be interred along side his wife in eternal rest."
