Roy Austi, a sweeper operator for the city of Concord for 35 years, died Sunday at his home in Antioch. He was 72.
The native of Concord lived in Antioch for seven years. He served in the Army from 1943-45. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anna Mae Austi of Antioch; son, Steven Austi of Antioch; daughter, Virginia Talley of Martinez; sisters, Melvina Baie and Mary Grimani, both of Concord; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Barbara Austi, died in 1978. [Note: Headstone says 1979.]
