Willie Mae Coffey Jones, 89, of Lenoir, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Shaire Center.
She was born Aug. 30, 1920 in Caldwell County to the late Will F. and Annie Smith Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy [sic] C. "Buck" Jones; five brothers, Ray Coffey, Mike Coffey, George Coffey, Grayson Coffey and Hillard Coffey; and four sisters, Lexie Watson, Lucille Torrence, Sarah Moore and Margie Hendrix.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and member of Gamewell United Methodist Church.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Clinton Jones and wife, Lou Ellen, of Boone and Roy Steven Jones and wife, Judith, of Blacksburg, Va.; eight grandchildren, Sheriff Alan C. Jones and wife, Kim, Darla Koon and husband, Phillip, Shannon Brunet and husband, Bernard, Erika Ravenberg and husband, Chris, Ingrid Baker and husband, Obidiah, Jennifer Jones, Meredith Jones and Katherine Coffey Jones; and 11 great-grandchildren, Garrett and Jillian Jones, Ivy and Wilson Koon, Xavier Brunet, Emma and Sean Ravenberg, Ciaran McNulty and Mabel, Jeb and Miles Baker.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Renee Easter.
Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory in Lenoir is in charge of arrangements.
