Charles, who reside in Milton, Delaware, served as a Private in Company A, 8th Infantry, U.S. Army during World War II.
He enlisted in the Army on May 18, 1944 at Fort Dix, New Jersey after being drafted. He was noted as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Single, without dependents.
He was "Killed In Action" during the "Battle of the Bulge". He had been overseas for only 19 days at the time of his death.
Originally he was buried in Belgium in 1944 and his remains arrived in Milton on Nov. 7, 1947.
