His early schooling was in Monroe Wash., before he moved at age 11 to Lind, Wash. His family moved to Ritzville in 1935 and in 1939 Mr. Allert graduated from RHS. He attended Washington State College for two years to study music. He returned to Ritzville and was employed as a telegrapher at the Ritzville Train Depot. He married Irma Danekas in 1943. They later divorced.
Mr. Allert served in the Army from June 1944 to March 1946 and was stationed at Fort lewis and later at Fort Shafter in Honolulu. Returning to Ritzville, he continued his position in the train depot later working for the city of Ritzville as a water superintendent for 13 years and later was a Carnation Milk distributor for 17 years. After he sold the business, he began working for various farmers in the Ritzville area.
He married Deloris Simonson in 1987. He played the bass fiddle for the Four Kings and Queens dance band for many years, playing for dances throughout Lincoln and Adams county. The past several years he and his wife were members of the Hillyard Belles and Show Band and the Siginin' oldies Musical Group. playing thoughout the Northwest.
Survivors are his wife and three children and three step children, 17 grandchildren and 10 great-granchildren. (Names deleted for privacy).
