Died at the Kyle House, Montgomery, Alabama, last Friday night, of heart disease, Captain E.M. Stone, aged 76 years. Captain Stone was a gallant Confederate soldier and a member of Camp Watts, of Cullman, Alabama. Up to the time of his death, he was actively engaged in business, being a commercial traveler, and was well known throughout Alabama.

Captain E M Stone was born in 1829, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and leaves a widow and five children (Mrs Susie Bounds of Cullman; Mrs J U Hardman and J M Stone of Birmingham; and J H Stone and Mrs W B Shackelford of Decatur), and numerous friends to mourn his loss. The remains were brought to Decatur for burial in the City Cemetery last Monday.
