Georgia Marie Robinson, 82, died June 19, 2008 at the Hamilton Healthcare Center following an extended illness. Funeral services were held June 22 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin Andrews officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Robinson was born Oct. 12, 1925 in Pottsville, the daughter of Elmer Dee Hurley and wife Ella Spivey Hurley. She graduated from high school in Pottsville. On Oct. 18, 1941 she entered into a 65 year marriage to Rex Byron Robinson, who preceded her in death on March 1, 2006.

The couple raised three children, Rex Dee Robinson, Martha Larine Guest and Jerry Lee Robinson. She is survived by four grandchildren, Austin Guest, Corbett Guest, Jerrod Robinson and Adam Robinson as well as four great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Beckham, Elijah and Fennimore Guest.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Robinson was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arlie, who died in 1972.

From the early 1940s to the late 1950s she cared for her children as a full-time mother while living in Dallas.

In 1959 she and her husband moved their family to Hamilton County. The move to Hamilton opened an important door in Mrs. Robinson's life as she embarked on what really became her life's work; a 40-year mission of enthusiastically caring for the elderly of Hamilton County as she went to work for her parents at the Hurley Nursing Home.
In 1974, her husband joined her in service to the elderly as joint owners and operators of Hamilton Nursing Home. After selling the business in 1988, Mrs. Robinson continued to work in the nursing home field as administrator to other nursing homes in the Hamilton area.

She retired in 1999 after suffering a debilitating automobile accident, which occurred in 1995.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Austin Guest, Corbett Guest, Jerrod Robinson and Adam Robinson. Also serving as pallbearers were close friends, Joe Haynes and Dale Gardner.
Honorary pallbearers were close friends, Zella New, Christina Leach, Nadine Brooks, Verner Gromatzky, Foster Wilcox and Stan Thomashide.
