Rita M. Austin, 96, of Camillus Ridge Terrace, Camillus, passed away peacefully Friday, June 4, 2010, at Syracuse Home Association. She was born in Auburn and was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Catherine Keenan Graney. After graduating from the Auburn Academic School in 1933, she spent her life caring for her family and enjoying time spent with friends. She is survived by three grandchildren, Mark (Deb) Austin of FL, Kelly (Tom) Reilley of Syracuse and Scott Austin of Syracuse; two great-grandchildren, Kate and Garrett Reilley of Syracuse; a daughter-in-law, Linda Austin of FL; and one niece. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roger "Roddy" Austin, in 1973 and a son, Alan Austin, in 2003. Calling hours for Mrs. Austin will be held Tuesday, June 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Langham Funeral Home LLC, 75 East Genesee St., Auburn, NY. A prayer service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Fleming. Those wishing to do so are asked to make a donation to a charity of one's choice in memory of Rita.
