CARL SAMUEL PETTIT SR. 82, of Sweet Home, AR passed away Monday, June 7, 2010. He was the Son of the late Homer Joe Pettit and Lora Daugherty Pettit. He is survived by his wife Diane Warner Pettit, his Daughter Lora Pettit Hughes and granddaughter Lauren Hughes, his Son Carl Samuel Pettit JR., his Daughter-in-law Lesa Thomason Pettit, and his grandchildren Ashley Pettit and Carl Samuel Pettit III, sons Joe McCaskill and Jerry McCaskill and grandchildren. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a Sargent in World War II, and a tank mechanic in the First Marine Division. Later Pettit was a diesel mechanic and electrician for Missouri Pacific Railroad and finished his career at Rock Island RailRoad, where he was the local chairman for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Right.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Griffin, Leggett, Healy, and Roth Funeral Mome located at 5800 W. 12th st, Little Rock. Funeral Services will be held Friday June 11th at 11:00 am at Pine Grove Baptist Church 2504 E. Dixon Rd. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visit our website at www.griffinleggetthealeyroth.com
