He was the son of Charles Henry Brewer and Angelina Pue. Married Sarah Elizabeth McDougald on August 27, 1911. To this union, James Cullen Brewer was born. Sarah died three days after giving birth. In March, 1913, he married Mary Linnie Allen. On the 1920 census for Kaufman Co., James and Linnie are listed with three children. Fern, Ruth, and Joe. No other records of these children have been found. He was a well respected doctor in Kaufman County, Texas for 30 years. He died from blood poison from a scratch on his hand.
