Ethan Travis "Eth Man" Robinson, age 17, of the Estatoe community, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2008, following a brief illness. A native of Mitchell County, he was the wonderful son of Travis L. Robinson and Stephanie (Allen) Robinson. Ethan was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lewis J. Robinson. He attended West Burnsville Church of God, and had been saved and baptized at an early age. Ethan loved video games, drawing, the outdoors, and had been a witness to his friends and family about the Lord.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his brother, Iain Scott Robinson; maternal grandparents, David and Lonada Allen, of Burnsville; paternal grandmother, Margaret Smith, of Micaville; loving aunts and uncles: Kim and Sammy Riddle, of Burnsville; Marketta McIntosh, of Troy; Tracy and Ted Phillips, of Cleveland; Wilburn and Mary Lou Murphy, of Blue Rock; his "cousin, friend, and brother," Cody McIntosh, of Burnsville; and his girlfriend, Christina Shelton, of Burnsville, whom he had a great love for. Several cousins, friends, and extended family also survive.
Funeral Services for Ethan will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at West Burnsville Church of God. Rev. Gary Helton and Rev. Jeff Goudlock will officiate. Graveside services will follow in the Wright family cemetery on Jacks Creek Road. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the church, or other times will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Yancey Funeral Services, 378 Charlie Brown Road, Burnsville, NC 28714, to help with funeral expenses.
