Pascal Wiseman "Jack" Newton, 71, of Saltville, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Newton.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and the Raytheon Company.
Survivors include one son, Jackie Thomas Newton, Saltville; one daughter, Phyllis Ann Newton, Saltville; three sisters, Daisy L. Northington, Taylorsville, Miss., Mrs. William Selby, Walls, Miss., and Mrs. Pershing Spruill, Greenwood, Miss.; one brother, J.H. Newton, Jackson, Miss.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, April 19, in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Olinger officiating. Burial will be in Elizabeth Cemetery with the Saltville V.F.W. Post 7328 conducting military rites. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Saltville Rescue Squad.
D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville is in charge of arrangements.
