LEE BALLEW DIES OF HEART ATTACK; RITES AT FROST
Funeral services for Lee Ballew, 53, supervisor here for the American National Insurance Company for a number of years, were held from the Frost Baptist church Monday at 3 p.m. The rites were conducted by Rev. C. C. Ellis, pastor. Burial was in the Emmett cemetery.
Ballew, a resident of Frost, was dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital here Sunday afternoon after being stricken with a heart attack at Emmett shortly after noon.
A native of Emmett, Ballew and his family had gone to the Emmett Baptist church for Sunday School and church and had lunch with relatives.
Members of the family said that he had visited a bridge under construction after lunch and was stricken near the family home as he returned.
Ballew was engaged in the barber business for many years before entering the insurance field. He resided at Frost and commuted to Corsicana.
Surviving are his wife, three children, Leah, Robert Lynn and Elizabeth Ann Ballew, all of Frost; mother, Mrs. G. B. Ballew, Emmett; two brothers, E. B. Ballew, Tehuacana, and Harvey Ballew, school superintendent at Lampasas; five sisters, Mrs. J. C. Kornegay, McKinney; Mrs. L. N. Price, Montalba; Mrs. F. H. Lawrence, New Orleans, La., Mrs. Dan Read, Corsicana, and Mrs. J. D. Caffy, Emmett, and other relatives.
Pallbearers were: J. W. Denny, Athens, R. E. Nutt, J. R. Goodman, Frost; B. V. Hatley; T. C. Griffin, Kerens; R. M. Johnston; A. B. Long, Athens; H. R. Langridge; B. B. Watson; C. D. Fortson; Bob Bevins; C. E. Keathley and W. B. Mcalester, all connected with the insurance office here.
