Paul Friday - GRAY

Paul V. Friday, 76, Gray, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 11, 2010.

Born in Washington County, he was the youngest of fifteen children of the late James and Sarah Florence Hannifan Friday.

He accepted Jesus as his Savior at a young age and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church most of his life. He was a current member of Believers Church in Johnson City, where his son is the pastor. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a military policeman (MP) in Panama. After his service, he worked for 34 years at Eastman Chemical Company until his retirement in 1994.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley; three caring children: Mark Friday and wife, Amy, Mike Friday and wife, Karen, Michele Murray and husband, Brian; six adoring grandchildren: Amanda Crain and husband, Richard, Andy Friday and wife, Miriam, Megan Clark and husband, Tyler, Caleb Friday, Parker Murray and Claire Murray; three sisters: Emma Sue (Dolly) Cash, Fannie Milhorn and June Hood; brother: Ralph Friday; many nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of his Life and Legacy will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at 7:30 PM at Tetrick Funeral Services with Minister Mike Friday and Evangelist Charles "Toonie" Cash officiating.

A Committal service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Gray. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:55 AM. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.

The Friday family would like to offer a special thank you to the nursing staff at NHC Healthcare, Johnson City Medical Center and Amedysis Home Health.
