BEN RICHARD REED, 72, Bloomington, died at his residence on Thursday, June 10, 2010.
Born July 16, 1937, he was the son of Ben Albert Reed and Olive Pearson Reed.
He was a mechanic for Bob Stillions Autos in Bloomington. He was a member of the New Horizon Church in Smithville, Indiana.
He is survived by three sons and spouses: Jackie R. and Linda Yenna of Ellettsville, Richard E. and Barbara Reed, Lawrence D. and Genevieve Reed all of Bloomfield; two daughters and spouses, Donna J. and Michael Rusher, D. Joann and Jeff Padgett all of Bloomfield; his fiancee Barbara Shields of Bloomington; one brother, Lebert J. and Donna Reed of Bloomington, 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Catherine Janett Reed, two grandchildren: Scotty Edwin Rusher and Paul Daniel Mathias Reed, also three brothers, Verlin Reed, John Reed and George Reed; five sisters Maudeline Kidd, Bernice Michaels, Flore Bland, Joann Kelly and Margarette Lane. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, 2010 and 12 noon Monday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Richard E. Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes any donations be made to the American Heart Association.
