Fall River - David W. Gehrke, age 52, of 134 South Street, Fall River died on Sunday, April 9 at Veterans Hospital in Madison.
Mr. Gehrke was born on July 16, 1936 in Columbus the son of Walter Gehrke and his wife the former Lillian Tiedt. He was married to the former Harriet Patchin on December 8, 1963 in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus. He was once the Captain of the Fall River Rescue Squad. He had been employed by the Fall River Foundry for 33 years and was a member of St. Stephens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fall River.
Survivors include his father Walter Gehrke of Burnett; his two sons, Dean of Hartford and Philip of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; his daughter Beth Gehrke of Green Bay; his sisters Linda (Robert) Dochnahl of Burnett; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian in 1971 and his wife Harriet on October 5, 1982.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 12 at 11:30 a.m. from St. Stephens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fall River with Rev. David Babinec officiating. Cremation followed with inurnment in the Fall River Cemetery. The Jones-Jensen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
