Mrs. Rebecca Elizabeth Rutherford of Oil City passed away at her home there on Wednesday morning October 3, 1962, at 9:00 o'clock, following an extended illness.

She was born in MeVeytown on September 28, 1897, the daughter of John and Margaret (Fry) McCoy.

On September 15, 1920, she was united in marriage with Simpson S. Rutherford who is surviving along with these children: Kenneth and Harold Rutherford of Oil City and Mrs. Willard (Audrey) Hutchinson of Polk.

A son proceded her in death.

Also surviving are one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Jennie Trejet of Floral Park, New York, Eugene McCoy of Jamaica, New York, and James McCoy of Milroy. There are ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rutherford attended schools in Lewistown and McVeytown. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Oil City.

The funeral service will be at 11 a. m. on Saturday, October 6, at the Booth funeral home in McVeytown. Officiating will be the Rev. William Aber and interment will be made in the Mattawana Cemetery. Friends may call at the Booth funeral home on Friday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock. A prayer service will be conducted at the Hutchinson and Morton funeral home in Oil City on Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
