Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 1, 2003 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of North Augusta with Dr. Gary C. Redding, Rev. Wade Trimmer and Rev. Rick Barbare officiating. Burial will be at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Dennis Allen, Dr. Ben Bashinski, Jerry Counsel, David Fields, Danny Glover, Jimmy Holt, Emerson Thompson, Dan Troutman, Chuck Wigham. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Stokes, Jerry Stokes, Wendell Colston, Virgil Corday, James Flynn, Mike Garris, Wayne Heath, Scott Wade.

Greg was a native of Portsmith, Virginia but lived most of his life in Charleston, S.C. He has lived in Augusta for the last 15 years. He was the vice-president and co-owner of Augusta Mitsubishi, Charleston Mitsubishi, Saturn of Augusta, Honda Cars of Aiken, Kia of Augusta, Acura of Augusta and Saturn of Savannah Automobile Dealerships. He was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta. He was involved in many community activities including being a board member of March the Dimes, Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau, supporter and board member of the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Executive Committee of the Boshears Fly-In, sponsor and volunteer of the Southern Nationals to benefit Special Olympics, Distinguished Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Augusta. He was also the campaign chair for the Alzhiemers Associations Memory Walk. He also supported the March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, the Boys and Girls Club of Augusta and the Augusta Lynx Foundation by being an Auctioneer for those local charities.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greg Hodges Charitable Trust c/o Katherine Barrett at Wachovia Bank, 1751 Gordon Hwy, Augusta, GA 30904 proceeds will be distributed among the many local charities that Greg supported.
