Mabel Elizabeth Weinrich, 92, a resident of The Dalles, died Sunday, August 12, 2007, at a local hospital.

She was born on October 8, 1914, the eldest of six children to Claude Melvin and Elizabeth (Cocking) Padgett in Esmond, North Dakota.

She was raised in North Dakota and eastern Montana, and in 1935 she married Bert Harold Weinrich. She lived in eastern Montana and North Dakota for 38 years and in Wenatchee, Wash., for 45 years. In 2002, she moved to The Dalles to be closer to her daughter.

She was a housewife for many years until her husband encouraged her to give real estate a try, something she'd talked about for years. She loved fishing, selling real estate, concerts, plays, beautiful things, and spending her summers vacationing with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Ann Davido and her husband Frank, The Dalles; her five grandchildren, Todd Davido and his wife Erica of Monroe, Wash., Kirsten Wiley and her husband Shawn of Seattle, Carin Weinrich of Seattle, Kelsy Singleton and her husband Aaron of Seattle and Bradley Weinrich of Portland; her three great-grandchildren, Patrick and Ryan Wiley and William Singleton, all of Seattle; numerous nieces and nephews, and daughter-in-law Maureen of Seattle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Harold Weinrich; her son, Bert Weinrich Jr.; and her five brothers and sisters.

A private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-Quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Interment was held at Wenatchee Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 18.
