Civil War Service - He enlisted on 3 May 1861 at Macomb, Illinois. He was Commissioned in Company A, 16th Infantry Regiment Illinois as a 2nd Lieutenant on 24 May 1861 at Quincy, Illinois. He was promoted to Full 1st Lieutenant on 13 Mar 1862. He was dismissed on Sep 7 1863.
