My g-g-grandfather, H/O Louvica (Caldwell) Bishop,Married 1-26-1817 Giles Tennessee, Both were from Tennessee moved to Estillfork Jackson Co. Ala. They had at least 12 children 11 living to adulthood. Not sure if all were born in Alabama. The 5th of July 1830 applied for and was granted a land grant At Huntsville Ala. Bought 79.9 acres at the rate of (1.25) per acre amounting to 899.86. At the 1830 census from Jackson co. There were 6 daughters and 2 sons. Not sure when Stephen died About 1842 he was alive when the 1840 census were taken but dead when the 1850 census was taken. At the time of his death he owned 1650 acres. I believe they are buried there on the home stead, John Bishop and his family are buried there where they lived on the home stead Also. But there is no head stones for Stephen and Louvica. Stephen enlisted in the Creek/Florida war in June 1836 at Montgomery Ala., He was Captain in the Bishops Co. 2nd regiment volunteers. He mustered out 17 August 1836.Later on Louvisa his wife recieved 40 acres of bounty land for his service.
