Mr. Ricky Hudson, 31, of Ocilla, died Thursday, February 22, 1990 in Ocilla, Ga. The funeral took place Saturday, February 24 at 11 a.m. at Ocilla Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Jimmy Chapman officiated and burial was in Frank Cemetery in Irwin County.
Mr. Hudson was born September 30, 1958 in Irwin County, son of Bailey Eugene and Lessie Grace Hunter Hudson. At the time of his death he was a drug agent with the Ben Hill Sheriff's Office. He served with the US Army and was a member of Ocilla Primitive Baptist Church.
Mr. Hudson had lived in Irwin County all of his life. He was a 1976 graduate of Irwin County High School and attended Middle Georgia College and Abraham Baldwin College. He was a graduate of the Georgia Police Academy at ABAC and the advanced police training drug enforcement school at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth. He served with the Ocilla Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth. He served with the Ocilla Police Department for two years and had been with the Ben Hill County sheriff's office since January.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Goff Hudson of Ocilla; a son, and three daughters; his parents, Eugene and Grace Hudson of Ocilla, his paternal grandmother, Allie Hudson of Ocilla; a brother, Tommy Hudson of Ocilla, a sister, and several nieces and nephews.
Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla and Fitzgerald was in charge of arrangements.
