Rites Held For Ferdinand Schultz Wednesday P.M.
Was 80 years old; had been resident of city since 1891
After an illness of several months' duration, Ferdinand Schultz passed away at his home on River Road Sunday morning, January 14th. He was 80 years old.
Born October 21, 1859 in Herrenstein, Province of Pommerania, Germany, he lived in that country until 1891, when he came to Columbus where, he has since made his home.
On October 23, 1888 he was united in marriage to Anna Krueger and to this union six children were born, two of whom have preceded their father in death. His wife passed away twenty six years ago.
He leaves one son, Carl Schultz of Beaver Dam, three daughters, Mrs. Anna Tiedt, Mrs. Elisa Krakow, and Mrs. Elsie Weihert, all of Columbus; eighteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother Rudolph Schultz of Columbus and four sisters, Mrs. Wm. Schulz, Waterloo, Mrs. Marie Wohlfeil, Fond du Lac, Mrs. Emilie Maas, Columbus, and Mrs. Julius Pergande, Columbus.
Funeral services were conducted from Zion's Lutheran church of which he was a member, on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Wm. Nommensen officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery.
