The Last Member Of Scott Family Dies in Mason City

Mrs. Mary Scott Jacks, 97, the last of the Col. John Scott family so prominent in Nevada and in the state, died in Mason City on Thursday, December 5. Interment was here in the Nevada Cemetery in the Scott lot.

Mrs. Jacks was born in Nevada on August 9, 1866, attended school here and finished school. She married here and soon moved away.

She is survived by one son, Robert Jacks of El Paso, Texas and three grandchildren, Mrs. Dick Cole, Plymouth, Iowa; Larry Jacks, Northwood, Iowa and Judy Jacks, of El Paso, Texas. There are five great grandsons and one great granddaughter.

Col. Scott was Iowa first lieutenant governor.
