Matthew was born in Troy, NY on November 22, 1937 a son of the late Bernard and Alice V. (Farnan) Butler. He was a retired auditor for several hotel chains. He was also a U. S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step-daughter, Lillian Kiehner of East Prospect; a step-son, Richard Dickason, Jr. of Windsor; 5 step grandchildren; a step great-granddaughter; and a sister, Alice Newville of Middletown, CT.
A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery, 601 Hellam Street, Wrightsville with the Rev. Barbara A. Caruana officiating. A viewing will be from 9:45 am to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Service, 700 Hellam Street, Wrightsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to HPH Hospice Care Center, 12242 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34613.
