Mr. W. Donald Allen, 68, of Hoschton died April 18, 2010. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was a son of the late Thedford and Varie Watkins Allen. Mr. Allen was retired from General Motors. He was a member of Center United Methodist Church of Hoschton and Rockwell Lodge No. 191, F & A M. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 52 years, Josephine Allen, daughters, Phyllis Holland and Deborah Allen, grandchildren, Deanna Allen and Christopher Allen, and son-in-law Larry Holland. He is survived by three siblings, Sue Meadows of Lawrenceville and Billy Allen and Gloria Clark, both of Hoschton. Mr. Allen is survived by his two beloved Boston Terrier bulldogs, Lucy and Scrappy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Allen, and a sister, Frances Hutchins. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, at Carter Funeral Home in Winder. Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the cemetery at Center United Methodist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Center United Methodist Church, 7641 Jackson Trail Road, Hoschton, GA 30548, or Winder Wesleyan Church, 64 E. Midland Ave., Winder, GA 30680. Carter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
