Mr. McKinney was born on April 16, 1924 in Jessamine County, the son of the
late Virgle and Hattie Harris McKinney. He was a retired farmer, former
operator of McKinney's Grocery at Valley View and Clays Ferry Campground, and
a member of the Berea Church of God.
Survivors include his wife: Roberta Neal McKinney; three daughters: Vernice
Lainhart (Alfred), Jean Newton (John) and JoAnn Hickey (Patrick); three sons:
James Neal (Dawn), Fred Neal and Walter Neal (Linda); one brother: Ray
McKinney (Marie); two sisters: Virgie Long and Thelma Christopher; eighteen
grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife: Ann Kerby McKinney, a
brother: Layton McKinney and three sisters: Faye Shanks, Gladys Winkler and
Evelyn Stevenson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday at the Combs, Parsons &
Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow
at Madison Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Sunday at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral
Home.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Neal, Jeff Moore, Steven Lainhart, Doug Roberts,
Brian Sherman and James King.
