Mrs. Harvey, who had been ill four months, died at her home Wednesday, March 31, of cancer.
A lifelong resident of Ankeny, Mrs. Harvey was a member of the Ankeny Methodist Church and was it's organist until two years ago. She also was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service, Ankeny Garden Club, Fortnightly Club, and Ankeny Community Club.
Surviving are two sons, Roger of Adel, and Wilbur of Ackworth; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Lindamood of Olney Springs, Colorado, and Mrs. Judith Farrell of Ankeny; two brothers, Ardrey Allen of Des Moines, and Merwyn Allen of Creston; one sister, Mrs. Lois Thompson of Cottonwood, Arizona; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ora Hildreth, Vernon Smith, Perry Brazelton, Norman Nichols, Charles Albaugh, and Milford Johnson.
Rev. Mark Weston of the Ankeny Methodist Church conducted the service. Wilbur Sargent of Des Moines was soloist. Casketbearers were Norman Nichols of Grimes, Ora Hildreth, Charles Albaugh, Perry Brazelton, Vernon Smith and Milford Johnson.
Arline was born to Florian and Anna Allen in Ankeny on February 23, 1895 and passed away at the age of 70 years, one month and six days.
On November 22, 1914 she was united in marriage to Melville A. Harvey, who preceded her in death. To this union four children were born.
She was organist at the Ankeny Methodist Church and for special occasions for 15 years until illness forced her to resign.
