A special viewing and visitation for family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Gray Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Mt. Fork Cemetery, Eagletown, Oklahoma. Local services are under the direction of Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield, OK.
Rachel was born June 11, 1939, in Eagletown, Oklahoma, to Raymond and Francis Colbert Amos. She attended elementary school at Eagletown, then graduated from Goodland Indian School in 1958.
She married Jack Day on July 2, 1965, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They resided in various places until moving to Grandfield in 1979, where they made their home. She was employed at a local grocery store. Later she was employed at Grandfield Public Schools until the death of her husband. She met Joe Willsey whom she called her soul mate.
She enjoyed life to the fullest and was so proud of her granddaughter and great granddaughter, whom she loved spending time with. Rachel was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Eagletown.
Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Luckett and husband Kevin of Grandfield, two brothers, Bill Nelson and Will Nelson and wife Carla, both of Eagletown, OK; one sister Lula Pete of Broken Bow, OK; one granddaughter, Chazaray Parsley of Lawton; and a great granddaughter, Zaya Parlsley of Lawton and her soul mate Joe Willsey of Grandfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Amos and Frances Nelson; her husband Jack Day and a sister Mary Simpson.
