Johanna "Anna" Blaschke was born in House # 33 in Polouvsi, Moravia (now Czech Republic) on 8 April 1846. She was the daughter of Mathias Blaschke and Anna Zoller.
(Polouvsi was known in German as Halbendorf).

She arrived on 18 May 1872 in New Orleans, Louisiana on the ship Frankfurt. She then traveled to Fayette County, Texas.

Anna married Franz "Frank" Richter on 22 July 1872 in Fayette County, Texas. They settled in Fayette County where they were engaged in farming.

About 1881, the family moved to a farm outside Weimer in Colorado County, Texas where they continued farming.
Frank and Anna were the parents of nine children: Mary, Anna, Emil, Adolph, Louisa, Frederick, Albert Anton, Minnie, and Hulda.

According to her death certificate, Anna fell from a box in her yard and broke her femur; she contracted pneumonia and developed complications from nephritis. She died on 7 Feb 1932 in Borden, about 4 miles NE of Weimer, Texas. She was 85 years of age.

(NOTE: Her death certificate states her birthdate as 24 May 1847. But the 8 April 1846 birthdate is verified by her Polouvsi, Moravia Catholic Church parish birth record: http://digi.archives.cz/da/permalink?xid=be872d16-f13c-102f-8255-0050568c0263&scan=58 ).

Richter, Anna (Blaschke)
Aged Lady of Borden Community Dead
Mrs. Anna Richter, wife of Mr. Franz Richter of the Borden community, died Sunday at the age of 84 years, and the remains were laid to rest in the Odd Fellows' Cemetery west of town Monday afternoon, a large assemblage of mourning relatives and friends attending the funeral. Rev, Paid Piepenbrok, Lutheran minister of Schulenburg, conducted the funeral service.

Mrs. Richter was born In Austria. She came to this country in 1873, settling in this section and her long and useful life was spent almost exclusively in the western part of Colorado county. At time of death she had spent 59 years of her life in this section. She is survived by husband, seven children, all grown and married, seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Richter was a quiet, home loving, good wife, friend and neighbor, and was highly regarded by all who knew her. Her death is deeply and sincerely deplored, Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to her bereaved ones.

Anna was a resident of the Borden community for 59 years. She came to this country in 1873, settling in this section and her long and useful life was spent almost exclusively in the western part of Colorado County. Anna was a quiet, home-loving, good wife, friend and neighbor, and was highly regarded by all who knew her.
Mrs. Richter passed away Sunday.
Funeral services were held for Anna Richter, 84, Monday afternoon February 8, 1932 with Rev.Paid Piepenbrok, Lutheran minister of Schulenburg, officiating.
A large assemblage of mourning relatives and friends attended the funeral.
Her death is deeply and sincerely deplored, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to her bereaved ones.
