Rene Louis Bernard, Jr. 64, of Tifton, died Saturday at the Tift General Hospital.
He was born in Mississippi and had lived in Tifton for the last five years and was a former resident of Valdosta. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, was a graduate of the University of North Carolina where he was a member of Alpha Chi Sigma honorary fraternity.
He is survived by four daughters, Deborah Jones of Lake Park, Anne Dodson of Macon, Judy King of Nashville, Tenn., and Peggy Faulk of Milledgeville; one son, Rene Louis Bernard III of Albany; seven grandchildren, three brothers, Emile A. Bernard of Alberquerque, New Mexico, Patrick S. Bernard of Bowie, Md., and Gregory L. Bernard of Augusta.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at the St. John Catholic Church. Father Lawrence Lucree and Gregory Bernard are to officiate. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
