Andrew Jackson Gillespie was born in Linn county, Mo., September 29, 1866, and died at York, July 22, 1910, after an illness extending over a period of several months. The cause of death is given as sarcoma, or cancerous tumor.

In 1887 Mr. Gillespie was married to Sarah Osburn and five children were born o the union. In 1892 they came to Fillmore county and in 1906 they moved to York. Mr. Gillespie is survived by his wife, four children, five brothers and four sisters.

The funeral occurred from the Fairmont Methodist church, Saturday, July 23, at two o'clock p.m., Rev. DeWolf officiating, and interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery.
