Elsa Joy O'Brien Jensen, age 82, died at Crossland Rehabilitation Center in Sandy, Utah on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 due to natural causes. She resided at 12031 South Draperville Avenue (210 East) in Draper, Utah at the time of her death.
She was born October 15, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Michael Cleaborne O'Brien and Ellen Margrethe Sorenson. She attended West High School and graduated in 1946.
On November 5, 1948, she was united in marriage to Douglas George Jensen. Elsa was a faithful member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, joining in 1963.
She was a very active member participating in the Alpha Circle, women's retreat and the Red Hat Society. Elsa played bridge for over forty years, where she met many great friends and shared many laughs. Elsa worked as a bookkeeper for ten years with American Express, where she retired in 1994.
Elsa is survived by her loving children, Scott and Drew; grandchildren, Thad, Jenny (Eric), sister, Mary Ellen (Lavare) Jensen; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Janice, and brother, Russell.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates Mortuary, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South), Cottonwood Heights, Utah. A visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Interment will follow in the Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery.
