Allen Robertus Bonner was born on 30 Jan 1847 in Choctaw County, Alabama to Allen Bonner and Mary Ann (Boykin) Bonner. He died on 05 Mar 1918 at the age of 71. He served in the CO "C" 21st Ala. Reg. CSA and was a prisoner of war on Ship Island, Mississippi. He was released on 06 May 1865 from an "Exchange of Prisoners".
Allen married Mary Jane Utsey. They were the parents of seven children: William Robert, John Nathaniel, Walter E. "Bud", Cleavie P., Mattie Usella, Claudia L., and Arthur Rosha. After the death of Mary in about 1900, Allen married Rebecca Catherine "Katie" James on 03 Jul 1903. They were the parents of one child: Lola May.
Due to a high level of malaria fever deaths in the area Allen and his family were living, the Old Samuel Community, he chose to relocate his family in Wayne County, Mississippi.
