Funeral services for Betty Day Armstrong Mullins of Kilmichael will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, at Bethsaida Baptist Church near Kilmichael, with burial following in Bethsaida Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Jackson and the Rev. Alex Lawson will officiate the services.
There will be a visitation on Friday, June 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mullins died of lymphoma on Wednesday, June 9, at Winona Manor in Winona. She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Mullins was the daughter of the late Samuel Louis and Annie Mary Waldron Day; and the widow of Gilbert Wood Mullins. She was a retired waitress and factory worker and a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church near Kilmichael. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Channell.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie Armstrong of Kilmichael and Arkell Armstrong of Grenada; four stepdaughters, Connie Greenlee of Kilmichael, Daphne Armstrong of Grenada, Gildia Morrison of Moundsville, Ala., and Natalie Curtis of Jackson; two stepsons, Gibby Mullins and Keith Mullins of Kilmichael; two sisters, Louise Pugh of Cameron, La., and Joyce Cobern of Winona; one brother, Jerry Day of Richland; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Guy Stanford, Brent Stanford, Tony Thomas, Terry Davis, Charles Pugh, Sonny Day, Richard Cobern, and James Alvin Brackin. Billy Armstrong will serve as honorary pallbearer.
