SOUTH HERO - Joyce C. Santor, 82, of South Hero, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Fletcher Allen Health Care of Burlington.

Joyce was born May 1, 1928 in South Hero, the daughter of the late John and Ellen Lombard Lawrence.

She graduated from Cathedral High School and on Jan. 14, 1952 she married Jasper Santor, who predeceased her on Sept. 1, 1989.

As a person who loved the outdoors, Joyce enjoyed gardening and mowing her lawn. However, the highlight of her life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Joyce is survived by her children, Michael Santor and his wife Mary, Lisa Santor and Lyman Brownell, and Paula Nash and her husband Mark, all of South Hero, Mark Santor and Vanessa Santor of Grand Isle, Ruth Nash and Stephen Nash of Salem, Va. and Celinda "CJ" Santor and Patrick Loiselle of Swanton; her grandchildren, Michael J. Santor, Matthew Santor, Jennifer Brownell, Kelly Brownell, Keith Santor, Benjamin Nash, Anthony Santor, Makayla Nash, Marcie Nash, Jamie Nash and Joshua Lash; her great- grandchildren, Jasper Santor, Sierra Santor and Grady Brownell; her brother, Harley Lawrence of Md.; and her sister, Alice St. Peter of Burlington.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and her good friend, Kitty.

She was predeceased also by her brothers, Richard, Arthur, Jed and Jim.

As per Joyce's wishes, burial will be private and at the convenience of the family; however, a Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Masonic Temple located on South Street in South Hero.
