She was born in August of 1899 in Bolckow, Mo. and had been a Manhattan resident more than 40 years. She was a member of the Bolckow Baptist Church and Harmony Rebekah Lodge No. 689, Past Noble Grand's Club and the American Legion Auxiliary, all at Manhattan.
Survivors include her widower, Oliver Yeager of the home; one son, Harold M. Townsend, Sr. (Patricia) of Blue Springs, Missouri, one daughter Rosalie J. (Dr. Dearrold) Palmer of Nevada, Iowa, five grandchildren: Kirk M. Palmer, Kristin E. Palmer, Kimber J. Palmer, Kay V. Palmer, and Harold M. Townsend, Jr.
She had been married to Irl Townsend prior to marrying Oliver Yeager.
Services will be Friday at Cowan-Edwards-Yorgensen Funeral Home with burial in Valley View Cemetery, Manhattan. Rebekah Lodge No. 689 will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday.
