PHOENIX, Ariz. - Mary Lou Webb, 72, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Monday, May 31, 2010. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12 at the First Baptist Church of Scottsdale, 7025 E. Osborn, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.

Mrs. Webb was born July 4, 1937, In Pendleton to Francis and Gertrude McGee. A graduate of Pendleton Senior High School, she attended Washington State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and education.

After college and her marriage to the love of her life, Don Webb, she began teaching in Lodi, Calif., and continued in San Diego before moving to Phoenix, where she taught kindergarten and first grade for 26 years. She truly loved teaching and received the Golden Apple Award in Phoenix for her dedicated service of shaping young people's minds. She retired in 1996 and returned the following year (which turned into six years) to teach teachers and to help share her vast knowledge of challenging young minds.

Mrs. Webb is survived by her daughter Stacey, brother Steve and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francie and Gertie McGee, son Brett and the love of her life, Don.
