Funeral services for Dan Herrell, 80, of Heiskell, Route 1, who died at 9:25 o'clock last Thursday August 2, was held Saturday at Piney Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Tom Hart officiated. Mr. Herrell, a farmer was born in Tennessee, October 11, 1853, the son of Rufe and Annie Herrell. He had been a resident of Anderson County for many years. He is survived by eight sons, R.L., John, I.L., Ase, Harrison, all of Anderson county, Tom and George of Knox county and Dan Herrell of Illinois, three daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Sweet, Mrs. Mary Jane Stroder and Mrs. Anna Grooms, two sisters, Mrs. Martha Hicks and Miss Lannie Herrell.
