SANGER, Nov. 20, 1942—The funeral rites for Mrs. Sallie V. Giles, who died Tuesday, held at the Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon with the pastor Rev. F. M. Talbot in charge. Mrs. Giles was born May 28, 1857, at Berry, Alabama, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Thompson who spent their later years with their daughter here. She was married to Rev. H. W. Isbell Jan. 11, 1875, in Alabama, coming to Sanger in 1897. He died in April 1937. Surviving are her husband, Ed Giles, and the following children: Chaplain J. F. Isbell of Fort Bliss, Rev. K. R. Isbell of Center, T. E. Isbell of Sanger, Barney Isbell of Las Vegas, NM, Hugh Isbell of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Mrs. Alice Hearn of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a nephew Rev. Hugh Olan Isbell, who lived in their home for several years and is now district superintendent at Farmington, Missouri; Thirty-one grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive. Pallbearers were George O. Hughes, W. B. Chambers, Bob Crawford, H. O. Harris, Jim Burroughs and Roy Spratt.
