Howard Lindy Estes, 80, of Streator, passed away Tuesday morning, June 8, at his home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator, with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW. Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Howard was born March 23, 1930, in Henry, to John and Mary (Trewatha) Estes.

He is survived by sons, Dale, Daniel and Darrell Estes, all of Streator; daughter, Diane Delgado of Streator; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Burton of Streator; and several nieces and nephews.

Howard is preceded in death by a grandson, John Smith Jr.; brothers, Bert and Raymond; and sisters, Vernie Collins, Viva Estes, Nellie Whitman, Hazel Winterrowd, Thelma Ceas, and Mamie Schaumberg.

He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict as a staff sergeant. He retired from I.B.P. in Amarillo, Texas.
