Marion Francis Prince peacefully passed away May 19, 2000 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City.

He was born Oct. 10, 1906 in New Harmony, Utah to George Francis Prince and Nancy Elizabeth Pace Prince. He was the sixth of 10 children. He married Lola Williams Sept. 12, 1929 in the St. George LDS Temple. She died Oct. 4, 1975. He married Elva Kochevar March 1, 1980 in the St. George LDS Temple. She died March 18, 1994.Marion had a long and fruitful life. He was a farmer and a sheet metal worker. He was generous, often anonymously sharing of his produce, eggs, and flowers. He diligently and faithfully served his Heavenly Father all of his life in many capacities, including Bishop of the New Harmony Ward, and most recently as a Home Teacher. He had a capacity for expressing love, whether it was towards his beloved family, friends, neighbors or others. He continued the family pioneer tradition of growing beautiful flowers, especially Dahlias. He was our example. Good-bye for now. We love you.

His family includes children: Gerald W. (Marilyn S.) Prince, Cedar City; Sharlene (Ronald B.) Sanders, Cedar City; Lana Jean (Sheldon Kerry) Grant, New Harmony; Paul F. (Dawn) Prince, Salt Lake City; step children, Joann K. (Bruce) Hanson, Fountain Valley, CA; Lewis, deceased (JoAnn) Kochevar, Holladay, Utah; Paul (Jeannie) Kochevar, Riverton, Utah; Don (Celia) Kochevar, Sandy, Utah; Bruce (Karalee) Kochevar, Sandy, Utah; surviving sister Florence (Elmer "Bud") Quist, Salt Lake City; and sister-in-law, Winner Cooper Prince, Henderson, NV.

His posterity also includes 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; 25 step grandchildren, and 46 step great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the New Harmony Ward LDS Chapel in New Harmony, Utah. Viewings will be held Wed., May 24, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary in Cedar City and one hour prior to services at the New Harmony Ward LDS church. Interment will be in the New Harmony Cemetery.
